Mostly are neutral. The change in pH can cause denaturation of enzymes.
Enzymes are very important in catalyzing the metabolic activities in the body, so the pH must be maintained within a narrow range.
Denaturation of enzymes occurs because the charges at the active sites of the enzyme molecules are altered. For example, when the intestinal fluid becomes acidic, the concentration of hydrogen ions, H+ increases. This changes in the charge of the active sites (the active sites become positively-charged). causes the enzyme molecules cannot bind with their specific substrate molecules readily.

depends on the region of the body. In the stomach, for instance the pH is around 2, whereas in other parts of the body (blood for instance) I think it's actually slightly basic (7.2 or so). The pH of the fluids in your body must be maintained at constant levels because pH affects the folding of enzymes. All enzymes operate at an optimal pH, and if the fluids differ too much from this they'll lose their shape and wont be as effective.
Extreme pH's can also directly damage tissue.

The pH in human body is 7.4 +- 0.02. The reason that it is at this pH is because all our enzymes work best in this condition. The +-0.02 acts as a buffer so that other proteins or stuffs in our body do not get broken down.

mostly its neutral...I believe

its important to maintain a narrow range because the activity of enzymes, which maintain vital processes in our body, are affected by changes in pH. extreme changes can lead to their denaturation

it is 6.9 to 7.1pH .. it is necessary to maintain the pH because it control the metabolic activities through enzymes .and enzymes needs cetain optimum pH for their optimum activicity
