A "write up" is a normal step in a progressive disciplinary process. Make no mistake about it: this is the first formal step towards a termination unless your change your behavior to match what your supervisor (and, presumably, the company) want you to do.

Advising on a situation like this is very complex. Is your boss treating you any differently than his other employees? If so, you have a legitimate grievance. If not, then you need to reflect on your behavior. If he is getting mad for "simple stupid things", perhaps you'd better stop (or start) doing the the things he wants.

Your boss is entitled to "put pressure" on you to do the job the company needs done. If, on the other hand, he is putting pressure on you to quit by creating a hostile workplace, he is violating the law.

You didn't really give us enough information to give good advice, but if you need the income to feed and house your family, I would certainly just buckle down and do what's necessary to keep this job until you can find another one that suits you better.

No don't quit. It depends on what you are getting written up for. Just take it and try to do better. My boss yells at me and at times I feel like quitting, but we always work things out. If I were you I would have another job lined up before quitting. Maybe you can talk things out. Don't quit just because you are getting written up. You need to find out why first. and if you know why then take it. But if you feel like you do not deserve it then don't sign the paper and tell him your side of the story.

Don't quit because of a write up, as long as you do your job properly and don't f...k up and be late or have a lot absenteeism there's nothing he can do. Listen to the write up, discuss it with him and make sure you do better on the stuff you're written up about. You need to look at his perspective too, how many stupid things to you do? If it affects the business you need to pull up a bit. What seems little and stupid to you, might affect your fellow employees too, so examine yourself. At the workplace everything you do is important and if you louse up then you might inconvenience other people too and that's unfair to them.

Don't just quit for no reason, only if you have another job to go to. If your boss keep harassing you, go over his head to his boss or higher in the company, then if he don't stop, threaten the company with a harassment lawsuit. I bet the company will step in and do something about then. I had to go through the same thing.

There are a couple schools of thoght here:
1)Your boss is a jerk and wants to get rid of you. The best way to do this is to have a paper trail of write ups, that way when he goes to fire you he was probable cause.
2)Your boss feels that there are areas of improvement that need to me be made. By writing you up he is communicating the importance of the issue/topic. Hopefully he will make some suggestions on how you can improve.
Good Luck!

Don't quit if you have a kid. Even if it means suffering for a bit. But maybe take this as incentive to find a new job. Make sure not to use this boss as a reference. Good luck!

first he can't tell you your getting written up in the future unless what he is doing is a verbal warning stating if you don't change. you also don't have to sign what you are being written up for. I recently had gotten something in writing put in my file for being an organized person and trying to organize our company emails... my boss didn't like the idea and so she wrote me up. put it in my file but i wouldn 't sign it cause i don't agree with it. she said it wouldn't affect me unless i keep doing it... i think you can be written up 3 times in most companies without being terminated for that specific cause... best thing to do is a keep a log of what you are doing and what your boss/coworkers are doing. good and bad. because if you just log the bad it will seem like you are trying to get revenge but if you log everything going on... it shows that you are documenting for your benefit not revenge. good luck

Find another job before you quit yours especially if you have a child to feed. But I would look very hard because sounds like your boss is an a**

don't quit if you have a kid to feed...a write up isn't that bad. just talk to your boss man to man and see what you can do to improve...tell him you want to improve, that will mean a lot to him.

You have to be honest with yourself and decide if these accusations are true. If so, then you need to try and improve. If not and you are truly being harassed or whatever, I would move on.
