Did someone call you a nerd-------please don't concern yourself- i'm in my 50's, when i was younger i was in high fashion, and realised the nicest and most interesting people were the ones called nerds. it is usually shallow, self- centered people that use the term. My best friends were allways the Nerds as i prefered their conversation, i allways found Them stimulating and I probally became a nerd myself-i'd rather be a nerd than a self centered, self deluded , boring ***** in nice clothes.

Nerd refers to somebody who passionately pursues intellectual or esoteric interests - such as books and video games, rather than having a social life, participating in organized sports, or other mainstream activities. Non-nerds often think of nerds as intelligent yet socially awkward people. Nerds generally express an above-normal interest in complex subjects and often function as polymaths.

What is a Nerd?
1) it is a meaningless label designed by bullies and such to belittle those they see as different.
2) A little multi-flavoured candy.

a nerd is smart and in many cases outcast. I have found that later in life, nerds are the best marriage material and the best as far as intelligence. Just not as good socially.

A nerd is a term children use to pick on other children who spend time not rebelling against what they think is uncool. Adults use this term to lash out because of their insecurities. Ask not whether you are a nerd... ask whether you should care if someone small enough to use that label should choose to label you.

I don't know you well enough to know if you are a nerd or not! But here is a clue:
A nerd is a reall intellegent person (super high I.Q.) who does not have common sense enough to pour tinkle out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel.

There is no real term for the word "nerd". But in the urban, when they refer to someone as being a nerd they probably mean that the person is very inteligent, in fact more intelligent then the person saying it. Also when someone dresses "nerdy" they mean to tell you that you look smart, and or, dressing retro. Shirt tuked in, dorky looking, etc.

maybe to some people, nerd is mostly used by dumb people to make fun of people that are smarter than them. dont be worried if your called a nerd the person calling you that is probably dumber than you (in school terms maybe failing)
