Falling off isn't the problem. The problem is the icecaps melting due to global warming will raise ocean levels enough to cover Florida. It will be under water.

Hi Lil Mama,
I live in Ft. Myers, Florida only 6 feet above sea level!! So believe me, it is something I have wondered about as well. Here, taken out of context from a recent USA Today article.....
"Quite simply, the ice caps are melting, the result of global warming, and scientists have begun to realize just how catastrophic this is. This year, the journal Science published a study suggesting that sea levels worldwide could rise by several meters by the end of the century, "faster than widely thought." If so, huge swaths of low-lying regions from Florida to Bangladesh could be submerged."
By the end of the century certainly won't be in our lifetime, but not long after!! Wonder what effects it will have in the meantime?

actually Florida is not expected to be totally underwater once the ice caps melt- just most of it....it will be a much smaller state! if you live in southern Florida when this happens you are pretty much screwed.

You mean it's stillthere??!!?? LOL
I have no idea but I fear California will beat it to the plunge. We've had three quakes in three days here in the Bay Area and I just love when the media says it was a "small" tremor. Yeah Right! Regardless of how big these suckers are, if I can feel it, it's big!!
