OK maybe I'm crazy - but Godzilla - is really about the relationship between Japan and the USA. First he thrashes Japan - just like USA did in WW2. Then Godzilla in effect became Japan's friend, like the USA.
Rodolf the red-nosed reindeer - really about racism in america. It is a call for accepting diversity - right?

I did notice how Lord of the Rings is like the War on Terror though. The eleves, the hobbits, the humans, and the dwarves are like all of the countries banding together against terrorism and the orcs and all are like the terrorists and Sauron is like Osama Bin Laden and the ring repressents terrorism.

yeah....sesame street was based on drug addicts. big bird....acid
suffolupocus.....heroine.....oscar the grouch.....the pusher on the corner.
what about Popeye.....back in those days they fought over alcohol. Popeye and Brutus fighting over "olive oil"
people have to get their ideas from somewhere.
i have no source to this other than the fact that i find it fun to have conversations with really old people....its history in real life.
