Wat kind of tools? How do you make the templates? How much do you charge?

very carefully lol you usually do it all by hand without templates it take as very very sharp graver to cut into steel like that and a very steady strong hand ....charging is based on you ability and rep .... you can get info at the local library under gun engraving/gunsmithing it is hard, demanding but very rewarding, work

Are you talking about the stock or the actual metal. The stock is relatively easy and can be performed with an engraving tool set. The metal part of the gun (barrel, etc) is usually stamped by the manufacturer with the serial number, etc. You should consult a reputable gunsmith before performing this as you may in effect reduce the integrity of the gun itself and it could be dangerous to fire afterwards. Some older guns with a damascus barrel should not be engraved (or fired) with the modern ammunition of today. Just be careful and talk to someone in the know before attempting.
