Depends on if you are using dry or wet. More than likely you using dry, so if you get a good mix of dry and wet mediums, i.e: leaves/grass, kitchen waste, sawdust, to add to your compost and keep on top of it, as in turnng it every 3/4 weeks, after about a year depending on how hot it gets and how broken down the items you have added are, it could take one to two years.....it is better to have more than one compost pile.

Go out to a farm and see if they have some composted manuer that you could pick up. Some may charge a bit, but most will just point you to a pile in the field or whatever and tell you to have fun. It may not be organic as such (i have alot of trouble calling things organic. I prefer the term natural. It means no chemicals, pesticides or herbisides etc, that are known about but there is a chance that it got into the system somewhere.) We always put a layer in our garden at home and grow lost of veggies. Just a warning though. It may have more weed seed. Just make sure to stay ahead of them and you should not have any problems.

Depending on how often you turn the pile 1-3 months is all you need. The biggest thing is to get the bad microbs and any weed seeds to dies out.
Layering in old compost is a good practice, because it will innoculate the pile with good microbes.

About as long as it takes to carry it to the garden. Cow manure doesn't have enough nitrogen in it to burn most of the plants in the garden.

I usually let it compost about 6 months. Less if you have an active pile that heats up above 140 degrees.

Oh, until it stops smelling :-)
Raw is acidic. Compost manure looks like million bucks. When mixed in with soil, veg. plants just love them. Yum,Yum.

IT DEPENDS ON THE CONDITIONS. YOU SHOULD LET IT DRY FIRST BEFORE USING IT. 30 DAYS OUT IN THE OPEN OR 90 DAYS COVERED.
