Hi Stroms,

Depends on what you're looking for...the Everglades is a short drive west and is great if you love nature. If you are more of a city girl, take advantage of the many museums and cultural arts in and around Miami. Also, for a good family time, they have a very neat aquarium there. There is a lot there to do, you just have to be adventurous. Or, if you want about a two hour drive, Take US 41 north through Naples and Ft. Myers (on the west coast). Around Ft. Myers is especially beautiful and also has world famous Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Good Luck and have fun.

I agree with Eric. Go to the museums. The Sea aquarium is awesome and the Miami Metro Zoo is one of the only free range museums out there. They also have a lot of animals that you do not see a lot in zoos up North. If your daughter is 8 or under try the Miami children's museum. Monkey Jungle is really cool. Kind of stinks but if your daughter is into pets this is the place to go. The animals run free and you are caged so you are not as big of a threat to them and they are more interactive with each other and show off more.
