There's a couple of reasons...
Are you using a $1.50 foundation, or a $20. one... that could be the difference.
How old is your foundation? When it goes bad, it can do that.
If it's less than 2 months old, I would agree with previous posters, you need to exfoliate... but please don't use St.Ives....
The best way to do that is to use a glycolic cleanser, the AHA's do the work for you and exfoliate and heal on all layers of the epidermis (skin). Put the glycolic cleanser on a clean, dry face. Leave it on for 5-20 minutes, as long as you can stand the tingling.
Rinse thoroughly, then use a really good moisturizer (I like the Jan Marini line... but that's just me)
Then try the foundation. Avoid any damaged areas until they are healed.
If you are dry skinned, once a week, try this trick. Mix up some table salt with some olive oil into a paste. Gently rub over your face in circular motions and leave on for 20 minutes, paying extra attention to the dry areas.
Rinse completely. Then put virgin olive oil on your face and sleep with it on, making sure it doesn't get onto your pillowcases.
Good luck.... I battled this too!

The liquid foundations dry out and crack. The make-up that I found that works the best and looks the best is Bare Essentuals. I think if you type bareessentuals.com you will get to their website. If not do a web search. They have stores all over the country and also sell on line and over the phone. I love their make-up. I started using it after watching one of their infomercials on TV.

You need to find your self a good moisturizer! And put it on after you wash your face, and even before you go to bed!
Also exfoliating once or twice a week will make a significant change as well!

Did you moisturize your face enough before applying the foundation? Use a hydrating primer, that would help.

It sounds like you need to exfoliate. Try St. Ives Apricot. It is usually about $3. at Walmart. Only use it every other day. Most people do not need to exfoliate every day.

because more than likely you have dry skin or you are not using a foudation with any moisterizer. i would suggest a light mosturizing foundation, or sticking with the foundation you have now and just using some moisterizer itself.
