I think UCLA might be better because it also has med school nearby. but which school is better for pre-med? maybe UC Berkeley since it is best UC school

I think its better to do it at UCLA cuz they actually have a pre-med program. I dont think Berkeley has a pre-med program.

Berkeley does have a joint medical program with UCSF. Its a 5 year Master of Science/MD program.

You'd have to ask someone who's recently sampled both schools; they may be qualified to answer the question from their experience. There are so many factors to take into consideration. Also, what one person finds to be ideal another may not. There could be so many variables to consider: would one be more likely to be killed in a gang neighborhood in L.A. than in Berkeley for unknowingly wearing the wrong color shirt on a particular day? Is Berkeley more laid-back of a place to live? More pollution-realted health prob's in L.A. smog?

You can't go wrong with either. Chose based on some other criteria. After all, your school will also be your home for the next four or (probably) five years.
