If I am absolutely sure, I'd have a serious conversation about it and go from there.

Well, if it were me, I wouldn't be their friend anymore until they decide they need you. Then they'll be sorry. But, don't take them back, you should teach them a lesson. I'm actually in that situation right now, and my friend is still begging to be my friend again. After a while, you should probably give in, but it's been 3 months with my situation...

You make sure the 'so-called-friend' knows that you know what went down...and how you never thought she/he would ever do something like this to you....then.....keep your distance, and in your heart forgive this person! I know, I know...easy for me to say.... but it will allow you to put the entire situation behind you. So from now on, trust carefully! But know that it has happened to all of us, small or huge way!

I would confront my close friend that what I know and give her a chance to explain herself knowingly that she is going to lie about it.
Then I bite my tongue, literally, and I have no choice but to let it go.
In my future I won't tell that close friend anything so she cannot backstab me again
Basically, I would keep a distance.

I will just pretend like it don't happen and be nice to him/her but when she/he is not around, I will backstabb her also. It's so simple.

I just got backstabbed by my best friend. If they do it once they'll do it again you need to cut your losses and find a new friend, but stay guarded people are hard to be trusted but just move on and stay the hell away from drama

Accept the fact that the person was not actually a friend.
That being done, I'd look for those who have better character for my friends.

I would never trust them again. It would be the end of the friendship. It reminds me of the saying "With friends like that, who needs enemies".

If there was a lack of trust, then you need to choose your friends more carefully next time.
