why do teenagers feel that it is cool to be?

wasted all the time partying all the time and doing drugs. they like to do whatever is bad? im a teenager yet i dont find anything amusing about it. oh and the sex thing, i just found out a girl i've known a long time is pregnant. at 17. its disgusting. i actually care about being a good person. my friends and i usually dont do any of that crap.

Stuff like that happens because parents can't control their children anymore. Think about it--if you were going to get the crap beat out of you instead of just a lecture or time out, you'd think long and hard before getting high or laid.

Wow, I feel the same way and I often question a lot of my teenage peers, or teens ingeneral. I find it anything but cool or "fun" to get totally wasted and to make a fool of yourself. Don't you just hate how they often give you the same stupid answer for drinking, "its fun". Are they that lame that they need some drug to have fun. I think a lot it has to do with the whole "do it while you're young" phrase that I've heard every since I was a child. Parents assume their teens are going to drink, and rebel anyway. So that just gives them more reason to do it, especially if the parents expect that sort of behaviour. I refuse to do it, I refuse to be just another typical drunk idiotic teen. I hate the fact that they would rather spend tons of money into getting wasted instead of using the money wisely.
The teenage sex is another thing that bugs me as well. One of my childhood bestfriends had a baby at age 14, yes it's disgusting but I think a lot of it has to do with the parents or guardians. Even though I didn't have a positive role model, I some how ended up without ever having drugs or a sip of alcohol. I've never dated either, I often use the excuse, I'm to busy to date. I think it's just that a lot of teenage guys where I live are drunk and have a few kids running around. I hate the fact that they don't see that there is more to life than just getting wasted and dating. There are teenagers out there that choose to be better than just typical, or settle for what is expected of them, I stand proud for being one of them.

teenagers feel that doing these things make them like an adult. the "cool " feeling is that drugs they think is fun to experience and sex because they can't control those raging urges. parties are fun but they party all the time because of groups and hating school.
