You just acquire different viewpoints. and it feels as watching from an additional dimension.
I was born in one country, lived most of my life in second, worked 6 years in third, and now live in fourth. I have dual citizenship - what should I consider "foreign"? What i DO see is that each and every one of them has it's good points, and and it's mistakes. You try to point out the mistakes in such a way that you won't get deported, and praise all that's good.

Involved how exactly?
I think it's not about supporting but more likely to get involved in social community as a social being and that's okay.

I still am supporting both.... the country who is hosting me for work and my home country. I will not be able to make it if I was not granted the opportunity.

when you live in any country with different culture, you will only adjust with their culture. Sometimes you will enjoy it and adopt some of it and added to your practice.
As long as you are comfortable with any new ideas and you are not struggling with your thoughts. Its ok to change your opinion sometimes.
Personally, I will adopt any concept that may improve my life and others.
