I know there is a distinction but not sure what the distinction is. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

A book is any work of creative or critical writing bound together, so it could be fiction, non-fiction, a book of poetry, a thesis, etc. A novel is always a work of fiction, and it has to be a minimum number of pages to be technically classified as a novel instead of a novella or short story (I forget how many, sorry!).
