Despite receiving hundreds of dollars of electronic gadgets ( a high-end Canon digital Power Shot and an iPod shuffle) I don't really feel that attached to them (namely because they both had "technical problems!)
In fact, the most special thing that I recieved this year was books!
While they may not be cool, expensive and the thing to have, the fact that I can always count on them is special to me.
Sometimes older "technology" is better!

This is going to sound really cheesy but here goes anyway....My future in-laws gave me a pair of really comfortable socks and a beautiful scarf that they'd seen while they were out shopping and they said that it reminded them of me. I know that sounds kind of strange that out of all that I got for Christmas I would choose socks and a scarf but the fact that they took the time to pick out something that they truly felt I would enjoy and that suited me meant the world. I'm greatful for everything that I've been given this year and especially for the fact that people put so much time and effort into finding the perfect gift that matched my personality. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hadn't even thought to ask for socks or a scarf or anything else but it was still something that I will use often and enjoy.
Hope your Christmas day was wonderful and full of fun times.

I received lots of great gifts this year but my favorite was a pair of little angel figurines that my 5 year old baby brother got for me at "Santa's Secret Workshop" at his school. They are so cute and because he picked them out and said they were "perfect" for my husband and I just makes them that much more special!
Plus the fact that my mom had him when I was 18- hes more like my son than my little brother.
Merry Christmas!! Hope you had a good one!

A copy of the painting my 92 year old grandmother did a few years ago for the Alzheimer's Foundation. She was a painter her whole life and this was her last painting she was ever able to do before her Alzheimer's had progressed too much. It is very special to me and I love it. It is called "Roses and Fiddle Faddle"...very abstract, but beautiful.

My 2 year old niece, who I don't see too often, remembering who I am, running up to me when she saw me, yelling my name and giving me a big hug! Also getting to spend Christmas Day with her and the 2 of us sitting in her room on her bed listening to her music and dancing along to it! She just loves showing people her room and loves her new "ipod" that she got from santa.

My daughter who is 11 years old knows I like Marilyn Monroe movies. I have no idea where she got this purse but she gave me this Guess purse with a big smile on her face. It's not MM. It's got Anna Nicole Smith on it!!! She thought it was Marilyn so she bought it. I told her the truth that it wasn't Marilyn but I will carry it anyway because my baby bought it for me.

A picture frame from my sister. She put lots of photos of us in it...all from when we were kids in the 1970s. It's hilarious and she put a lot of time and effort into it. I love it and plan to hang it in an honored spot in my house tomorrow. Then all of my guests can see it and it will be a great conversation piece! "Oh my gosh, look at your HAIR!" :D

My greatest present is one that know one realized was given to me. My daughter was very happy and said it was the best Christmas ever and she does not want to go back to school. Prior to today she dreded the holiday and said she hated it and she wanted to stay at school. So her happieness was may greatest joy.

My four year old niece gave me a white bunny creamer and a rose sachet. She seemed to remember I love roses.
