Touché is a French term (literally, touched) that is used in fencing to acknowledge the receipt of a valid hit. The person who gets touched calls out "touché".

It is also used in conversation or debate to concede a point as true, often in response to a successful counter of one's own logic, as shown in the Mac Advert example.

More commonly, it is used sarcastically to indicate that one is unable to argue against another's absurd logic.

In French, it means "touched". In fencing, one would say, "touche" to say there is a touch, and therefore a point. People often use it in English to say the other person has bested you in an argument, not literally scoring a point or anything, but as a joke to acknowledge they won that match.

Used to acknowledge a hit in fencing or a successful criticism or an effective point in argument.

Example:

Person 1: "That movie was very intresting"
Person 2: "But the end was too sudden"
Person 1: "Touche"

"touche" = touch; originally a fencing term; when the tip of the epee 'touched' the opponent, he had to acknowledge; 'touche' - or 'you touched me'
