It's called black English vernacular..... its a dialect, look it up, whether you like it or not....... It has nothing to do with education either, i don't get mad at people who talk like rednecks..... I don't see it as a issue.... its 2006 get with it.....

How Ironinc. I was watching the news last night, and the sports caster, very white guy, said the following:
"He jump, he score, he bad." I really believe it is from sports players. If a football or basketball player stapled a cat turd to his lip, tomorrow thousands of kids would do the same thing.
I hold to this. When it comes time to advance out of childhood and into a meaninful job, these type people will be left behind.

What's "ghetto speak"? Are you referring to the way that some people speak in slang or not "proper" English? Because the majority of those people were brought up speaking that way because they were not educated. Hence the term "ghetto", which is where this "talk" originated. Yes it is frustrating to try and speak to someone who doesnt speak "properly" but when they can't help it there's nothing you can do about it. That doesnt go for those who just think that its "cool" to speak "ghetto", because those people need to just get a life and stop trying to be like everyone they think is cool. And that's how I feel.

All of the time! The worst is when people were properly raised and educated, and still choose to speak like they have no grasp of the English language. It is one thing to speak in slang with a certain group of friends, but completely another to use it in one'e professional and public life.

Whatever the reason things get weird in broken up words that I don't understand I just move on and leave them to entertain themselves.

It is just a fad,in another couple of years there will be some other sort of speech in style. The way I look at it is to each it's own.

My brother ghetto talks all the time, but he does it for the attention, and to some "ghetto speak" is talking like a normal person.

I encounter it EVERY TIME I SHOW UP ON HERE. All of a sudden, the loot that my DAD spent on my private, Catholic school education seems to be THE MUSTARD SEED compared to these GIBLET HEADS.
