A few years ago I paid my parents' electric and gas bill ahead for 3 months. I knew they didn't have much money for the winter(they are elderly, dad was over 90!) and I wanted to do something they could really use. But I did it anonymously, because I didn't want them to tell me I shouldn't do it. Then, I sent them a nice card with a $25 Walmart card in it and let them think that was what they got from me. It was really great when they called me (we live about 600 miles apart) and said that the Lord had provided in this way for them...let them think it was God helping them....in a way I guess he was thru me :)

I am in charge of my company employee's salary. Now this lady who was an employee came to me on Christmas eve and told me she has no money to spent on Christmas, and so without my boss's knowledge, I gave her an advance so that she could have some money for Christmas. I think this is the best Christmas present I've given to someone this year.

I gave my sister a "Winter Survival Pack" this year. It had Lemon Mint throat drops, almond body lotion, hand lotion, a yummy pack of gum, a nice lip balm, a single serving of calming Tazo Tea, mini Hello Hydration Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner, and a few more things. This was all packed inside of a cute makeup/travel kit with a nice note. I think she really liked it!!

I gave my grandmother a BP gas gift card because she drives a long distance back and forth to work.
I gave my grandfather a Home Depot card...but I think any gift I give him involving money is good because he just doesn't like to spend money at all! HAHA

I took my two nieces(6&4), both my grandmothers, my mom and three of my girl cousins to the ballet to see the Nutcracker. It was the first time for my nieces and my grandmothers. I completely blew my budget for the month, but to see my girls' faces made it all worth while.
The girls even took a pic with Lauren Anderson(the only Af.Am. principal in the Houston Ballet)-who danced the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy- during her final season before retirement.
