Hey, I'm a 14 y.o. boy, struggling with my computer, because my video card is too old to play the new game that my parents got me. I am using a DELL Inspiron 600m, and it is fitted with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000. The card I need is a card that is equivalent to the ATI Radeon X1300. Tech Support says that I can't upgrade the video card at all, but they CAN be wrong sometimes, so I'm going to a new group of people for answers.

-Is it possible to replace my Inspiron 600m notebook's video card with a newer model?
-What kinds of steps would I have to take to replace it?
-What ATI Radeon X130o-equivalent card would work in this case(remember, it is a notebook)?
-Would it in any way void my warranty?

Thanks.

The first thing you have to figure out is what kind of slot it's in, which you'll probably have to find in the system info for your video card. I don't see why you couldn't find a newer video card that goes in the same slot that would fit in that space. You may want to try calling ATI's tech support, they'll probably be more sympathetic.

It will probably void your warranty, but every warranty is different so you'll have to read it.

Call Tech Support back. Chances are you will get a different person and they may have a different answer.
This has happened often to me. Some have given me completely wrong info.
