what is the exact question so that we can think and reply in an intelligent manner. are you generalizing and putting terrorism and religions in the same bag. yes, the news media is giving somehow this mis-conception. who is "they" -- we are all different human beings and we all have ideas and ideologies on what is what, hope you do too. to some extent yes, some religions because of their extremism have been associated with terrorism -- and vice versa but this does not apply to all religions nor to all "terrorists or terrorism" activities. it is a complicated subject -- and help us identify the issue you are specifically raising.

If that is the same as, why do they equate terrorism with religions, it's because the terrorists claim that they have declared Jihad (holy war) upon the USA.

Because the Terrorist claim they are fighting a Jihad. They started it, let them get their wish and Die for their religion. ANYONE who kills women and kids for no other reason than to make a statement deserve to die. And ANYONE who thinks they should be treated fair, should be left in a room with the parents of people killed by them to try to get them to believe they deserve a chance or a legal day in court.
