The earths own magnetic field? Could we be making the earths magnetic field go up or down in polarity by artifical means? If it was true that EM fields made the earths magnetic field stronger or weaker wouldnt this be pretty good proff that technology is easly used wrong by idiots who dont think before they act?

Just figured someone in the philosphy field would know something about EM fields guess im wrong... No wonder scientists think were jokes?

It would have to be proven to be true, but as far as I know the totality of all the electromagnetic fields generated by technology doesn't have any measurable effect on the earth's magnetic fields. On the other hand, who really knows for certain what all the long-term negative effects of an emergent technology will be? Sometimes infinitesimal effects can add up cumulatively into major effects, as in the case of global warming. It's the end of December and it's raining outside - in Canada - go figure.

Maybe this shows my own ignorance of whatever EM fields are (I'm assuming that EM stands for electromagnetic), but shouldn't this be a physics question or somewhere in that realm. Idiots can easily use technology wrongly if that is the main question and not the EM fields part.

The electromagnetic Fields we produce are insignificant compared to the normal fields of the earth and surrounding space. There is no impact.
