I have had morning sickness before, this is actually my 3rd child. But my stomach feels like it is burning all the time. Is it acid maybe?

If your stomach feels like it's burning all the time you need to see a doctor whether you are pregnant or not.

Heartburn and acid reflux are 2 names for the same thing. It is stomach acid rising up into the esophagus where there is no protection against it as there is in the stomach.

What a person feels when they have heartburn is stomach acid eating away the lining to their esophagus. If the burning is lower than in the chest but under the lower left ribs where the stomach is it may be stomach ulcers.

Of course there are worse possibilities but fortunately less likely. In any case, you need to see a doctor soon.

Despite what the commercials say, Tums or other antacids that contain calcium carbonate as their active ingredient are often not good to take for any of the conditions I mentioned. Calcium carbonate does neutralize stomach acid but it also stimulates the stomach to produce more acid.

This results in the burning coming back in about an hour. Nice for the Tums company but not for you. Milk is also not good to take for reflux or ulcers. The doctors thought it was good 40 years ago but not in the lst 20 years. Milk contains calcium carbonate and stimulates the stomach to increase acid production.

A better antacid for most people is something like Gavascon tablets that contain an effective antacid and will not stimulate increased production of acid.

If you are pregnant, the baby takes up room in your abdomen which increases the pressure on your stomach and can cause reflux but you don't say how far along you are and I don't remember how long it takes for the baby to be big enough to cause that.

In any case, you need to see your doctor so that he/she can take a valid health history and physically examine you to accurately diagnose the problem. As you know, you shouldn't take any medications when pregnant unless ok'd by your doctor.

I don't mean you have to call him every time you want to take a pill. But your doc. can tell you what drugstore medicine or "natural" supplements that are safe to take and which are not safe. Since you have already had 2 children, maybe you already know those.

I know that this is a long answer but I believe that accurate and sufficient medical information is especially important when pregnant. God bless you and if you are pregnant, God bless your new child.

Well a burning stomach isn't normally one of the signs of being pregnant. Its probably acid. Probably Acid reflex diease, but some other signs you might see if you are pregnant is. Tender breast, Sleepy, Hungry, Breast have gotten a little bit darker. Your stomach feels full/ Hm i don't know how to explain the tummy feeling..lol..sorry. You have became more emotional. The missed period. Or lighter period. Vomiting/feeling sick. There is a link for 25 signs if your pregnant. Good Luck To Ya

It is never advisable to give people medical diagnosis. If you suspect that you are pregnant, and after all this is your third child, experience should tell you to take a test and get it confirmed by a medical doctor.

I would go to the doctor if it's worrying you. That's what they're paid to do, afterall.
