If you already know some power chords:

yeah....I'd say just try playing along with stuff as you hear it being played on Cd or mp3 or whatever....this takes a while, but when you start to build on it you really feel great about what youve done, you're constantly reinforcing practice by recognizing what you're playing....worked for me....i'm incredibly famous......from guitar.....seriously

Go to http://ultimate-guitar.com. They have so many songs and they give you easy diagrams of chords if you don't know them. Good Luck!
