I personally feel that the becision taken by both of them is at appropriate time. Warne very well know that his performance in the ODI Matches are not so good as compared to Test Matches Hence he decided to quit after the Ashes series, which he felt the right time he can retire with pride.

As far as G.D. Mc Grath is concerned, quiting from Test Cricket is more appropriate at the time Australia have regained the Ashes and he will not get such appropriate time to quit. Sine he is still good in ODI games, he want to quit after the World Cup, which is also a correct decision.

Shane Warne is pretty old and he should retire now but Glenn McGrath is fit and good too...he can play for a handful of years if he wishes to...
for Shane Warne there is no scope in cricket left so he must quit playing cricket......

this time major event is World cup , and warne was already out of ODIs so it was the best time for him to get reitred, after getting victory in ashes and Getting his 700 wickets...he has left this game with glory....And about McGrath so he will get retired after world cup from ODIs.......I think its the best time for both of them to leave. But yes its sad that cricket lover won't be able to see them again in team.but every player has to make such decision in life.
