Given the San Francisco Bay Area, where can I get a piece of art appraised and find out the name of the artist? The signature on it is as signatures go - a nice scribble - but it is probably European as over the last letter there is a ' mark.

Hey Calius,

There are many places on the Internet to look for a painting, get fine art advice, or ask for an expert. Identification, while trickey sometimes, is also something the experts can help with. Her are a few places to try. Just because you are in San Francisco does not mean you cannot use a New York Gallery, or London, etc.

Some of these will not give prices unless you join. Some are free, and others have fee structures to suit different needs.
