Gay or hetero, bashing is a crime. Assault on minorities is ignorant we have to be tolerant of every person and we are all going through this life with imperfections! It is how we strive against them that counts. Bashing someone is not the way to receive sanctification by any god.

I was bashed. The RN said she quit counting at over 60 stitches. I didn't call the Police and wouldn't have. The Hospital did, and the Police thought that I had it set up. So, f**k the police. Who would set up getting beaten that bad? I still don't get that.
I guess it was because like 4 other gay guys all got bashed around the same time and they must have thought we we're doing it for pity or something? Not sure, like the deep south is gonna give you pity, yeah right! What was I doing? I was on my way to work, and I stopped at Wal-Mart to get a 2-Liter Dr. Pepper and some CD's. This was 1987, btw.
Anyway, the one scar you can see looks cool, so I guess I'm lucky.

Was that the only reason you were bashed? Did you do something else that might have caused for them to bash you, or was it just there stupidity to bash you for no other reason except for being gay? If so then yes I would!! I am not gay. I just happened to stumble on your question by chance alone. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BASH ANYONE!!! FOR NO REASON AT ALL, EXCEPT FOR MAYBE SELF DEFENCE FOR THERE LIFE! Yes report them by all means and feel no shame and feel no fear, for if you do no then you have just accepted that you are wrong and they will continue to do what they will with the next person. They are nothing but weak, sad, lonely and probably gay guys that are afraid to cope and face what they are! While you are at it you should also report the person who said, IF YOU TELL THE COPS I WILL KICK YOUR ***! Good luck to you my friend and remember to love you, because no one else will love you the way you love you. Respect yourself and have dignity and if you are gay then that is who you are, respect it. No matter what you think you are, you will always be a human being like the rest of us with feelings and life. Once again good luck to you in life and love!!!

That's a very difficult decision to make. It will take a lot of courage to do the right thing.
You should report it for your own protection & as well as to try to stop them doing it to someone else. It will help if you have witnesses and a doctor's certificate decribing your injuries.
I hope you have some good close friends to help you through this.
I'ts very sad that in this day and age people can be so vicious and bigotted and think they have the right to persecute people who are different from them including people with disabilities, with different appearance including skin colour & different beliefs.

If I were to be bashed by a single person, they would be the one reporting it to the police since I would soon be bashing them much more in return. If it were to be a gang bashing me, I would not only report it to the police but go to the media to insure that something would be done about it. I prefer to be a lover and not a fighter, but if someone else starts the fight I will be the one to finish it.

i was bashed about threee years ago
and the second i came to, in hospital
the police where asking me a thousand questions
before they asked to much i said i was a transgender gay
and i was bash because of it
yet the police had already known about me and witnesses told what had happen and the guy was already charged
if it happned again i would do it again with out thinking about it
as people running around bashing others is not something any community needs

Absolutely, but I guess this depends on where you live. I would certainly do it without any hesitation whatsoever (living in Southern Ontario), but I can't say that I would be too comfortable doing it if I lived someplace more conservative (e.g. the southern states). The point is, though, that being physically abused is wrong and illegal regardless of your sexual orientation, so the police should deal with it seriously.

I am not gay but I f I were phsically harme dofr nay reason I would tell the police, the laws are the same for all as far as physical abuse goes, WELL not really, if somemone is convicted of harming someone becasue of theirnrace or sexual status, it is seen as a hate crime so they are treated harsher, how is that for justice. A women can be raped and beaten, but if it is a man who is raped and beaten for being gay, then the violators are treated more harsh then regularly. equal rights right?

Yes, because this level of hate is likely to elevate if not dealt with harshly. If the bashers get a police record, they may not be so stupid as to do it again. And suing them hurts even more. Sends a tough message, but when it hurts them in the pocket, they get it loud and clear.

I would report it but I know the cops won't give a s.h.i.t. or maybe I wouldn't bother.
Once I was arrested& booked by the New York City police after a family argument with my brother who accused me of stealing my folks S>S> checks. He lied but cops believed him on hearsay.
My father told them I was innocent but cops proceeded with the arrest. anyway.
Well at the precinct, One of the arresting officers shouted out to the cops around the stationhouse: " BOY - IF I ONLY HAD A F-U-C-K-I-N-G CONDOM - SOMEBOY GIMME A CONDOM - AND I'LL TAKE THIS QUEER INTO THE BATHROOM AND F-U-C-K- THE S-H-I-T- OUT OF HIS A.S.S. RIGHT THIS MINUTE.!!!!! I'LL F-U-C-K- THIS F.A.G.G.O.T. SO HARD HE'LL BE LIMPING.!!! "
tHE cops at the 76th precinct laughed their heads off and smirked and snickered and glared at me.
sO I expect no help from the police based on what I know of them.
Police, especially the white ones are lowlife scumbag dogs of the earth. i'm white but I say this to all of you out there.
I remember the cop's words verbatim like it were yesterday. The memory lingers. And lawyers said it was not worth their pursuit in court. They only want physical injury to happen to me till they sniff $$$$$$$$
