They others are correct. Usually a line like that through the screen means one of the rows of pixel (Picture elements) as gone bad. Usually there is no repair for that. Would cost more that a new monitor. If it is still under warranty, contact the vendor.

I got a line too. It appeared after the warranty expired. Oh well. My line changes colors depending on what I am looking at. Sometimes it disappears and the screen looks OK. Right now the screen is white and I don't see any line. It shows up when I place an icon, or the mouse pointer, over where the line should be. Right now the mouse pointer isn't bringing it up. Strange. Is your line vertical and near the left side of the screen? Do you have windowsXPhome? I cant get into safe mode. I am hoping its not a screen problem, but a software problem. Or perhaps a video card problem? Oops! You got a laptop! I think you will have to get a new laptop. I got a Dell Desktop.

Might be a row of dead/damaged pixels. Try turning it off for a while then turn it back on. If its still there then you should return it back to be repaired if your warranty is still valid. Hope this helps.
