I know how to play a few chords already but playing one note is bugging me. Anyone know of any simple and easy guitar songs that i could attempt to play. If there was a link that would be helpful too.Thanks.

Old McDonald was my first song I learned on the guitar. It's very easy.

I don't know what chords you can play, but the basics are G, C, and D. There are a lot of songs you can play with those three chords. Go to http://ultimate-guitar.com. They have just about any song you could think of and if there's a chord you don't know how to play, they will show you how to play it. Good Luck. Congrats on the new guitar!

Idont know how old you are but it seems a lot of new players want to try stairway to heaven and Pink floyd's wish you were here. I bought a guitar once, kept it for awhile but gave it up. It was too hard. I lacked the discipline and dont let anyone tell you its easy because its not and it hurts your fingers but still I wish I had learned it. But I can play a keyboard, passable but not band worthy. Youtube videos have a lot of "How to play" videos. I am still new to the net and I honestly dont know how to add link here
sorry, but I am sure someone has got you the info you need. Good luck and dont give up.

Ode to Joy. It was like the first song I learned on guitar. It's so easy I can play it so fast now. Sorry i don't have a link but it's in most beginner guitar books.

If you're just looking for a few songs, try learning the pentatonic scale. It's the foundation for blues and blues-rock. The first song I learned was Jimmy Reed's, "Baby, What You Want Me To Do?", and it took about 20 minutes to nail the rhythm.
That scale is fairly easy, and you can change tempos without much effort. Add a little distortion and volume and you can rock out. Have fun!!!
