If you're a very young man (under 30) why don't you dress as one of the Battlestar Gallactica characters? A lot of people (especially younger ones) love to discuss that show, and you'll spark a lot of conversations dressed that way. If you're a little older, then I'd go with the majority of the other answers and suggest Han Solo. Have fun at the party!
