is there a discussion board alternative to Yahoo boards now that it has gone away?

Yahoo boards were a bit disorganized and a little scary to use but a way to hear a multitude of opinions on any given subject. i miss it already and am considering a new PORTAL THAT MAY OFFER A LIVELY DISCUSSION BOARD.

Don't know of an alternative, but the boards are scheduled to reopen in early part of 2007.
