This was discussed in The Phantom Menace. Qui-Gonn asked Shmi who Anakin's father was. Shmi answered that he had no father. He just came about. It was theorized by Qui-Gonn to Obi-Wan that Anakin was conceived by the midi-chlorians (this is the correct spelling by the way). Midi-chlorians are microscopic lifeforms that reside in the cells of almost all living things in the Star Wars galaxy, comprising a collective consciousness and intelligence, forming links between every living thing and the Force.

Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. There is no mention of his father in any of the Star Wars movies that my family can remember. Anakin was Luke Skywalker's father.

There is no biological father, but people do believe that Darth Plagueis influenced the midi-chlorians to create life, in this case, Anakin's( as said in Epi. III, by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine). This might be true, knowing that it was around the time that Anakin was born( 41.9 BBY).

No one knows for sure. Some say it was a divine contraception thingy, but I think Shmi Skywalker just got plastered at a local Jedi bar and got knocked up.
My source said, "Tell not who the father was, or sorely kicked your a.s.s will be..."

According to his mother, Shmi (there's a great name), he was a virgin birth, with no father.
Before you get alll religious on me, Qui-gon theorized that the metachlorians which are present in the blood of force sensitive people were so concentrated in her for whatever reason, that they spontaneously fertilized an egg leading to Anakin's birth.
By the way, he did restore balance to the force, wiping out both the Light and Dark sides, before allowing his offspring to rebuild.

Uh, Anakin was Darth. Luke was Anakin's son. Anyway, Anakin was adopted and I don't think it was known who his father was.

She said she was just pregnant, no father. In the books they think the minichorlide things made her pregnant.
