My mate and me were the only 2 people to buy tickets to a movie once, and they brought us in free drinks and popcorn.

Normally they won't show it if no one buys a ticket. They do sometimes start them later if people show up. It's a purely managerial decision though.

and it depens on the theatre if like 5 ppl buy tickets then they show the movie if less than no

It's great that they do. That's the only time there's a smoking section there. No one can see the rear corners.

At least they have yet to say anything.

Yes they do...I have actually walked in 15 mintues late to a movie and it was playing..and i sware we were the only couple in there.

in some theaters yes, just in case someone comes in late...

in smaller town theaters...apparently no b/c we went into a movie (for free b/c my cousin works there) and no one showed up (besides us) and they never showed the movie...(biggest waste of time for us)

yeah, someone might be late and come in when the movie SHOULD be showing.
You don't have to buy tickets prehand.
