Yeah. I am 22 and like 50 year old women. There is nothing wrong with that.

That's a really good question. My mom and dad are 17 years apart in age. My mom complained that everyone told her not to marry my dad because of the age difference. She insisted it did not matter. But alas, when my mom turned 40 and my dad was 57 she left him. The age thing was a problem in their case because my mom was still young and wanted to go out and my dad was getting older and wanted to stay home and relax. (as he had worked hard and was tired). Of course that is only one of their many, many problems, but I think that age can make a difference in a relationship if two people do not share the same interests. (this can happen to people of the same age as well.)
So I decided the answer will be - age is just a number. Compatibility is the more important factor in a relationship.

Yes, I believe so, as long as both parties are over 18, then it should be up to the people involved whether or not they can deal with a big age difference. The biggest age gap I've had is 13 years.

not really. There is a world of difference in experience alone between an 18 year old and say a 30 year old. the only reason a 47 year old man is happy with his 20 year old girlfriend is because he is reliving his youth. For her part, she is probably really flattered by the attention of an older, experienced mature man. They have nothing in common otherwise. There are very few relationships of great age difference that work. For the most part - people need the stabilibty of knowing that their partner is on fairly the same level intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and in experience.
Sometimes it works, but most times - no.

As long as both people are sane adults, age is just a number. A foolish 20 year old and an 80 year old fart grasping onto anything he can before he bites the bullet... I wouldn't call that love.

Age is just a number. I can't seem to get this across my boyfriend's mother, who has an issue with the age difference. I am 9 years older than my boyfriend, and his mother thinks I'm too old for him. I don't see what the big deal is - we're both adults.

yes, even if the person is younger. The age doesn't necessarly determin the maturaty of the individual. It's all a number, it wasn't always like this, a few hundred years ago, well maybe 500 and more, age was never counted :-)

Absolutely!!! Too many people get hung up on the "age" thing. If two people are both at least 18 or older and they want to be with each other......so be it. We spend too much of our lives worrying and gossiping about what others do or don't do.

Yes, but both have to be into the same kind of things and have the same level of maturity (which has nothing to do with age)

A topic of ridicule and criticism to most. Love knows no boundaries. The Law of the land sets the age of consent.

Yes and no.
If there is enough in common then age is only a number.
If they have real differences of opinion because of how and when they were raised, there can be unsolvable problems.
