I was avoiding her for fear that I might get too close for comfort and her bf might get jealous (her bf is my best friend). My mom said I shouldn't get such things into my head. She won, and I started talking to my friend again. Now, I got too close for comfort and... TICK. TICK. KABOOM! I blew our friendship bigtime! Not only does my best friend hate me now, I also have a problem with her. She wouldn't give me the time of day! I was right in avoiding her in the first place, right? Or is my mom right? I mean, see what happens? What happened to my mom's "Don't worry, that won't happen speech?" IT happened! Now, I hate her, and my one-time best friend hates me! Another problem is I see them at church! And to top it all off, my (former) best friends brother insists that I have a "crush" on my friend (my best friend's gf). Now, I hate him too! Complicated, huh?

eh. ouch.
that really bites.
i think your mom was right, but so were you.
i mean you shouldn't really avoid her all together. maybe just spend less time. your reason was good.
avoiding would have blown the friendship too.
the part about too close for comfort.
wut exactly happened?
but don't get too mad. life does go on. it will get less awkward.

Well first off, Don't sweat it, Your best freind is just mad that another guy got close to his girl. And moms don't always know right. You need to follow your heart, Instead, wait for like a week or two, and just talk to them and explain to them what is up. And you know what, this whole I hate you crap is SOOO high school immaturity. Just face it your are upset that the girl you like is with your freind, Why couldn't you get to know her better, and see what happens with their realationship, instead of interfereing with it!! Would you like it if you were with a girl, and your best freind, liked your girl and he just tried to move in on her?? Did not think so, So in a way you were in the wrong for even trying anything with her! Be a freind and accept that you don't get what you want, and support your best freind, even if you hate the idea of him being with her. GET OVER IT

Wow. i'd hate to be in your shoes. okay, heres how you should handle it, first get rid of all your hate towards whoever and clear your thoughts. Whos the easiest to reason with? Your friend or the girl? Go to them and explain the situation and they might understand. And your mom is always going to be your mom, so just forget that one and make your own desisons. (she's already proved herself wrong!) And for God's sake, you PRAY in church! You don't have to talk to them, your busy asking God to make them shut up. And why in the world is your (former) best friend's brother involved in this predicament? Tell him to mind his own bisness! If worst comes to worst, are you good at letting go of people?

Pull back from the situation for a few days. Eventually try to get back with your best friend but never again try to be friends with his girlfriend. You had the right idea in the first place: To not be close to your best friend's girlfriend.
