I'd like a name that sounds less, let's say, Hispanic. Don't get preachy on me, just answer my question if you know the answer.

Change of name is a special proceeding in a court. The process is quite costly because dockets fees are required and there are payments for publications/notices to the public.

change your name unofficially -- that you will be one way -- of going about it. many new immigrants to do this country do and many older generations immigrants did it too, to integrate into their new milieu. this being said -- in order to change last names -- you make sure all your "assets" are preserved and you have no court documents hanging in there...it takes a bit of search to find out...as it depends in which you state you presently live. good name finder --and remember one thing one never satisfies all people -- all at the same time. hope it helps.senior nada.
