I continually read emails, and articles on websites about "Mystery Shoppers" where you get paid to shop, and give feedback on the store, and you get to keep your purchases as well. Has anyone else heard of this, and is this a big scam.....??!?

+ I actually did it for awhile. It was ok but time consuming and travel intensive. I would spend about 1/2 a day once per week, and I don't think I was paid much. I did get to keep the items that I purchased for them,

If they ask for ANY MMONEY, its a SCAM.

But back in college (1972), I did something like that. Went to see the movie - Patton. Had to buy one of the first 5 tickets. Counted the people who bought tickets and reported the count to a firm. Back then (min wage $1.75/hour) - I got paid $25 and the price of my ticket.

Within the past 2 years, I contacted one of the ads for a Mystery Shopper - went to their ad site and answered a bunch of wquestions. Inlcuding my age, race, etc. They said they didn't have anything in my area. Hmmm, interesting the Richmond, VA area is over 1,000,000 people - you would think they would have something if it was not a SCAM. But they did not ask me for any money.

If you go to the site and they want you to complete/agree to offers, then yes it's a scam. Mystery Shoppers do not ask for money or for you to agree to 3rd party offers.

Yes it's a scam. There is no quick way to get rich unless you inherit or win a lottery. Best bet is to earn and save.

anything that they ask for money up front to work for them
is a scam
I have never had any job where I pay them to work for them..
so be careful if they ask for money..then back out of it
but if they do not try it, but be careful what information you give them
before you say yes to them, call the better business in their area and ask them if they have had any complaints about them
then think about it

good luck

This is a scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And this sounds too good to be true.

I would be VERY cautious and don't pay any money up front (then it IS a scam).
