My dad is very non violent and hates violence and shooting. I want an Xbox 360 very bad, and all the good games are rated M. I really want to play a shooting game like Rainbow 6 Vegas or Call of Duty 3, so how can I convince my Dad to let me play those games? (He thinks I'll become violent or obbsessed with guns)

The last thing you should do is tell your Dad your friends are allowed to play these games as that will just confirm to him that their parents aren't doing their job properly.
I think I would be much older than your Dad and I'm not convinced that these games have an influence on how you grow up. I think it has much more to do with how he relates to you and the example he sets. Good luck.

see many of the shooter games out there have concepts of war . All u have to do is play a war game as Call of Duty 3 and tell ur dad that it is a way for u to get in touch with ur past and understand the war. This way ur dad will appreciate that u r trying to learn more about history .. hahhah.....then slowly start getting games like rainbow 6..

WOW...this is a no longer uncomplicated one guy... the only element i can think of of is so you might face up for your self. tell him he never enables you to talk and which you incredibly desire to talk now. tell him Halo 3 isn't even gory, and that is authentic (Halo 3 has like litteraly no blood virtually, the only blood in it somewhat is alien blood ((that's blue))) the weapons arent even genuine, maximum of them shoot blue and green lasers!!! I cant have faith he won't permit you get this. My little bro is 8 yrs previous and he has call of accountability 4, 5 and each and all the halos. you're able to ask him to study this... as a final motel I advise.

First Person Shooters develop great eye hand coordination which can be a valuable trait/training for later on in life.

Get him involved show him your lightning fast reflexes! Explain or show that this is due to First Person Shooters!

try to prove to your dad that your mature enough for them or start off small with platformers and slowly work your way up to there starting with paintball games or something in that area or a fantasy game with some guy using a gun

tell him I said you should be able to. I have played them (don't like many of them) and I am just more aware of the violence. Or just say one of your friends plays them all the time (choose one who he thinks is well behaved and is NOT likely to be violent)

This is easy, tell him you want viva pinota or a racing game, then borrow your friends games. Done deal.
