I agree Mike, Yahoo has allowed these types of bot programs to infest their chat rooms. I personally refer to these bots as: "Botostitutes".

There are other chat servers, and chat clients on the internet. Select a client that suits your needs and locate the servers they are allowed. Some servers have more protection while others are simply "trash".

I too have tried to locate chat servers, and clients to suit my needs, but Having two forums of cts, I'm limited in how fast I'm able to type. Therefor I have resorted to "Forum Based" chat. Soon many more servers will go this route, of "delayed" chatting.

Some sites offer these "free forum" style of chat. registering with these forums and speak with your friends, ask them to follow you there, But i'll warn you, I have tried offering my friends a safer chat environment 6 times, and with no results. They would rather suffer with the bots and spam then seek "safer grounds", or are they the ones with the bots and use them to disrupt persons like myself to enter these rooms because they know bots annoy me.

Nothing is safe anymore, We takes risks loging onto the internet, do not think your safe anywhere, or any chat room. Person like you and myself come need to come forward and denounce what the internet has become, and hope someone will correct this problem.

most of the chess lobbys have them and i find it particularly amusing when they chat each other. apparently they activate with any chat in the room and you ought to watch them try and seduce each other..its a scream!
