depend on your dvd. If it can read DVIX or that kind of codec then you can use cd-r. otherwise DVD.

As a CD only holds about 8 minutes worth of DVD quality movies, and a DVD holds almost three hours, you probably want to go with DVD rather than CD.

(Plus most home DVD players do not play CDs)

most of the DVD players are compatible for both versions i recomend DVD-R because you can get more space in a DVD

use dvd-rw , that way you can use the same dvd cd over and over, unless you want the movie to have it's own disc..
