I'm only 10 but I know from experience, unfortunately, that they lie to get the more popular and prettier friends when really all they ever really wanted was a good hearted friend like you. Never change who you are for someone else. Stay cool.

I know what you mean....I have a sister who just cannot go without having friends, or even has to be the "Best" at everything! Like, she always used to tell everyone she was my kids "Favorite Aunt", when she wasn't !! Or she always has to have friends around, until she scares them off, with all of her "Know it all" , attitude!! And it all boils down to the simple fact that their not comfortable in their own skin, their very shallow minded, and very insecure people........ Its sad, but very true... I love her, very much, she'll always be my sister, but not my favorite sister,, and definately not even someone I like to hang-out with, because of her always knowing everything, bigger, and better, or she's done everything I mention but better!! so, I finally have gotten to the age, to where I dont have time for "Unhealthy Relationships", you know?! So, I just keep a "Safe" distance from her at all times, because she's not only a "Know it all", she's toxic, and you cant trust her, or tell her anything in confidence without someone else in the family knowing about it, and everyone in our large family stays away from her, and its sad..... She just simply needs to quit feeling so insecure, and start concentrating on getting to see herself for who she really is, and what she does to people and quit trying so hard to make friends, and just let go, and be herself, instead of someone she thinks everyone wants her to be, you know... Just like those you mentioned, they have the same problem....... Their Lost!! They dont feel comfortable in their own skin, and they just need to learn, even if it means being alone away from others for awhile, to see theirselves for who they really are, so they can do something healthy about it, you know........ If I were you, I'd just stay away from unhealthy relationships such as you spoke of, because they aren't going to change for anyone, if they aren't ready to take a look in the mirror to see who they really are, and who they hurt in the process of it all........ Smile, you'll be a better person for giving it a "Rest" for awhile, just a little word from the wise.......
