There should be 23 chromosomes in the first polar body. The first polar body undergoes meiosis I, so it goes from diploid to haploid and thus half the number of chromosomes.

EDIT: If you're referring to just what determines the sex, then there should only be one chromosome in the first polar body and that's the X chromosome, since the mother can only provide an X chromosome.

The first polar body consists of 23 PAIRS of choromosome. It then splits into 23 choromosome during meiosis II.
