Now that you mention it, I don't normally see guys with shirts tucked in their pants anymore. But I would do what makes you feel comfortable. Tuck away :)

First of all, if you don't choose anyone else--make Mattfz best answer.
Okay, now as for the whole "tuck in your shirt" thing, it is totally okay to tuck in your shirts within certain parameters, however.
If you want to wear a t-shirt with a jean, you are allowed to tuck the tee into the jean. You would want to wear a brown or black leather belt and casual shoes. This look is often worn by older guys with larger chests--it's kind of a muscle thing.
Now, about the dress shirt thing: you know that a dress shirt (oxford button-down) absolutely must be accompanied by a dress slack or chino (JCrew or Banana Republic) and a dress shoe. It's just the LAW.
If you decide however to wear a casual shirt (button-down) like the ones found at BananaRepublic.com, the outfit will look a little dressier and that's okay. Many times, dress shirts are a little drab and boring as far as the pattern, but a cool, colorful stripe or dobby check in a casual shirt can dress up a look with a blazer or track jacket and tie.
I don't mean to hit you with all this random fashion trash, but if you want to do the "all my shirts, including tees, will be tucked" thing, go for it. Just be forewarned that it IS a little dated (but who cares right, as long as you can rock it), and you MAY look a little bit older than you really are.
Good luck, and Happy Holidays.
If all else fails, just watch "What Not to Wear." LOL.

Actually, all the talk over the past few months in the men's magazines is TUCK YOUR SHIRT IN!!! Even with jeans. It looks neater and more elegant.
My rule of thumb is, if there are extra buttons sewn in the bottom of your shirt, it was meant to be tucked in.
The Gap does sell these Premium Fitted button down shirts that are meant to be worn out...they arent as long and have a finished, bottom button with contrasting color thread. Some of them also have Stretch in them. Armani Exchange also makes fitted casual shirts that look good untucked (check out the website)
My vote would be if you are wearing a shirt untucked, get one of the fitted shirts, not an oversized sport shirt. Then you just end up looking like a fat, sloppy soccer-dad type. Getting out the iron doesnt hurt either.
And for casual wear, of course t shirts and polos should be worn out. Although for business casual it would be appropriate to tuck the polo shirt in with chinos or dress pants.

Let us be realistic. If the "normal people" or the 'establishment' stuffs their shirts into their pants, the teenagers who wish to be 'different' will NOT stuff their shirts into their pants. If the office types suddenly change style and leave their shirts UNSTUFFED, the teenagers who wish to be different will start STUFFING them in immediately. Or wear their underwear on the outside of their pants. Or paint their faces purple. Or shave their heads. Or get piercings, tats, and wear outrageous jewellery. ANYTHING to be 'different'. Curious thing is, they are ALL so different with these fads, they are ALL the same. How sad. How about trying to be individuals for once?? That would be DIFFERENT.

HA! My hubby still tucks every shirt he wears in! Even into a pair of footy shorts! I am always telling him to untuck but that just makes him more determined to keep it tucked in! Old habits die hard!

lets just say this. dont. its wayyyy wayyy wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy outdated. you will look nerdy. try it not tucked in, and then see how it feels. if you really reallly dont like it, then you should tuck it in. if your more of a comfort kinda guy. if you are more 'fashionable' then DONT tuck in. g-luck
