This is my second pregnancy and I don't think I have felt my baby move yet! Im almost 20 weeks pregnant and people always told me i should feel the second one sooner. I was just wondering if I should be worried or not.

Is your doctor worried?

Lots of things can affect when you feel the baby move... including your body size and where the baby's attached.

Most women are said to feel it sooner the second time, because the second time around you know what it is. (Those first-time mammas are just chalking it up to gas, their imaginations, or whatever, until it gets stronger.) I'm not sure how true that is, though.

Have you had an ultrasound yet? If not, I imagine you will soon. As long as the doctor is hearing the heartbeat regularly, and the baby looks find on u/s, I wouldn't worry too much yet.

I didn't feel my baby till 22 weeks ( i was terrified), I had talked to my Dr and he said sometimes it really depends on if your overweight or if this is your first child etc
you should have seen your ob gyn by now, and they should have done both an ultrasound as well as fetal Doppler by now
if you are worried call the hospital/Dr and talk to a prenatal nurse they will tell you to lay down and do what's called a kick count to see how ,much the baby moves in an hour but if you have not felt the baby at all, you really might want to get to the Dr
sometimes what you think is gas ( a slight fluttering) that is your baby moving

When you are 20 weeks pregnant, your baby measures about 5.6 to 6.4 inches and weighs about 9 ounces. It's amazing -- your baby can do so many things, but he or she is not yet 1 pound!

Your baby can hear sounds now, and it will cover its ears with its hands if a loud sound is made near you or "jump" if it is startled. Your baby will also be moving a lot -- twisting, turning, punching, and kicking. You still may not feel this movement, or it may feel just like butterflies or stomach rumblings.

If too concern about not feeling the butterflies see your Dr, but I'm sure you will feel it moving in the next week or two.

Good luck and congratulations you're 1/2 way into your pregnancy.

You're not supposed to feel any fetal movement in any pregnancy until aproximately 20 weeks. Some people do feel movement in subsequent pregnancies sooner, some do not- stop listening to everyone else! If you feel your baby is fine, he/she's fine. If not, then go talk to your doc. Either way, see your doc regularly, and they will find and address any problems.

I am sure that as long as as you are going to your ob/gyn and that you have heard the heartbeat and all sounds good that everything is fine. You probably have already felt the baby, but have passed it off as something else(indigestion or sonething). If you are that worried, make an appointment and see the doctor or go to the hospital and have them hook you up to the fetal monitor. They an tell you if everything is OK. Don't hesitate to go in to the dr. or the hospital, they are there to help. You'd rather be safe than sorry. Good Luck:)

Its more common to feel it moving earlier, but it doesnt mean you always will.

Your little baby might be on the small side, or facing inward, or resting facing the placenta, all those things block the movement.

It can take up to 20-22 weeks to feel anything.

Just the same, i'd ask your doctor to do a doppler check, just so you can rest a little easier.

You don't need to worry about it. As long as you are hearing the hb during your prenatal visits, there most likely is nothing wrong. If your doctor or midwife suspects any abnormalities, s/he will schedule an ultrasound to check the baby's development a little better. Otherwise, just enjoy being pregnant, you're halfway there!

You should be able to feel a gas like feeling within a couple of weeks. I am a mother of four and that question was always answered around 4 and a half to 5 months.

Have you heard the babies heartbeat and when is your ultrasound schedualed for? My friend is pregnant with her 2nd as well, she was 21 weeks when she felt it move. I am pregnant with my 1st and felt him move around 20 weeks. Everyone is different. If you have had good check ups and heartbeats, everything is probably going good. I bet ya feel him/her soon!! Merry christmas!
