Make sure the power plug is not loose. Check for viruses and spyware. Restore to an earlier date and do Windows updates. Contact HP Chat and ask for help. AVG virus is free and really good. Also, Yahoo Tool Bar's Norton Spyware Scan.

You probably have a virus...run a scan. If it finds nothing, try restoring the computer to a date before the problem began.
If still no luck and it becomes more than just an annoyance, take it in to a computer store.

If it is Random out of the blue it could be overheating.
First vacuum out the computer then blow it out. really check the power intake fan

check your power supply or the battery on the motherboard.while you computer is running touch the top of the power supply to feel if its warm or hot if its hot you may need to replace it,that is how i checked mine.hope this helps.

mine has the same problem, i think it's a mechanical problem , you can open the hard part's cover to see if the start buttons do not make click by themselves.
