I think he was on until the end of the last season. Gary Burghof
the actor that played radar is a very nice gentleman that lived
not to far away from me , here in Ct for years. A different county
and a few towns away.

he was in the original movie then did 7 complete seasons and 2 episodes of season 8

I believe he was there through the end. He had that stint on After M*A*S*H* along with Potter... that was the spin off... It fell short of the M*A*SH* antics and failed after a season or so....

I know that when he left
klinger took his job and was good but not as great as radar.
