My wife wants to go to the Ikea sale tomorrow. It will be hell on earth. Should I hurt myself and spend a few days in hospital? Or just disapear for a few days and tell her I'd been kidnapped? Or does anyone have any better ideas? Help!

HEy.... where is your brain? Are you depressed or just sick of your wife's ordering you...? Here is my advice .: you can be both happy...
Leave with her and on the way there tell her you'll have to pick up something for the car;;;etc...and you'llmeet her in Ikea in a bout an hour and shop with her when you get back... THis way you can go and check out some hot girls at a local show place....etc.

Man, a cold could be nice, if you live in a cold city, if not, a hurt ankle is another option, last resource, drive to Ikea, let her in the door and go to "find a place to park the car" and try disappearing for a couple of hours, than when you come back, go straight to the bar.

Go to the sale at 'Next' instead - it's a smaller store.
However, if you was to go to Warrington you'd have Next, Ikea and M & S all next to each other. Personally, I'm staying home. Good Luck in A & E - hope you're not waiting to long......

Could she not go with a friend who likes going to sales? I'm sure you know a couple where the wife enjoys going to sales. Contact the guy ... suggest he asks his wife if she would go shopping with your wife and the pair of your can go to a football match, play a round of golf, or watch the racing on the telly.

Hmm...I think the kidnapping idea is good. And send letters to her from the kidnapper lol. Imagine she ended up calling the police lol. Hmmmm. Or you could just go out really early, and then come back late and be like "TODAY? ITS BOXING DAY TODAY? ARE YOU SURE? WOOOW! LOOKS LIKE ITS 2 LATE NOW!"

Summon up all your courage and shop with her. Don't get exasperated. Try and smile all the way through. Then she will really owe you. You can take her to a 2-hour-long sporting event. Or a pub she hates, but you like. Or something geeky like a car exhibition/sci-fi convention. You know....

Sorry mate. It seems they have us all by the balls. I would rather stick needles in my eyes. Who wants that Ikea crap in their homes anyway. It's an insult to carpentry.

tell her no, you dont drag her fishing or hunting or under the car with you to change thebrakes so why is it such a crime that you dont dawn a moo-moo and a set of jelly sandals to run to the cosmetic section and try perfume, dont you hate the double standard, they love that card and pull it out every 5 seconds, beware of her girlfriends and ban dr phil, its all the devil!!!!!! im sorry for ya, good luck , this is a no win situation for you

No, don't spend the day doing something you don't want to do. Tell her to order it online. If she really wants to go just say you've got a dicky belly. Why do you want to spend boxing day shopping.
