Hey, there's nothing stopping you from becoming a better artist. Practice helps, but please don't discourage yourself by comparing yourself to other people. People are different, and there are different drawing styles. You may never draw exactly like that girl, but who cares? She may never be able to draw like somebody else.

And honestly, people don't draw "perfect" lines, except with a ruler or using the computer. There will always be flaws in drawings, but it's not about the imperfections, it's about doing what you can with what you have.

You can get better with practice and time. Don't let other people discourage you. Keep drawing.

God bless.

I had the same problem when I entered the school of architecture. I though I was a 'natural' but I was so dissapointed that first project to find out that there were a few people that were WAY better than me.

However the second project we did I got the best review of anyone in the class and I was excited. The next project, my professor tore it appart and said it was "awful and looked like it belonged on Mars"

The moral of the story is this: Art is art, nothing more, nothing less. How good you THINK you are IS how good you are. As long as you are passonate about what you draw it will come through in you work.

Try this if you feel comfortable enough talking to her. Ask her what she thinks of your drawing ability and if she has any pointers for you. Who knows what possibilities this might lead to.

I've had this problem ALOT.

She's just had more practice. It sounds corny, I know, but it's true--practice makes perfect. You just have to keep drawing alot, and don't give it up. Try drawing more silghtl ycomplex things, so you can develope new skills. It's like going on a diet or building up mucsles--you've got to be dedicated! It takes time to loose weight, and you can't keep lifting the wimpy weights if you want to make your own muscles bigger.

It may even take a while, but if you keep practicing, you'll be great before you know it. Also, HAVE CONFIDENCE. There's no way you can draw a good picture if, the whole time you're drawing it, you think of how bad it is, and then you get frustrated, and can't draw a thing. (I know the feeling.)

You used to think that you were really good at drawing...you should still be thinking that. Just because you think that this girl is better than you dosent mean that she is. I am an artist as well...everyone draws different, some people were meant to do still lifes, some were meant to do cartooning..she just has different techniques and a different style than you. Art has no rules, art is art, wheather its the famous painting starry night by Vincent Van Gogh, a painting by Leonardo Davinci, or a giant blue square on the wall of modern art. You have your own style that makes you who yuou are. Dont compare yourself, no matter how good or bad you think the person sitting next to you is.

just keep with it... get a sketchbook and draw from life whenever possible. and draw things multiple times and eventually you'll get better. also experiment with different drawing mediums, like pastel, conte, pen and ink, charcoal.... And one more thing, don't try to draw the "perfect line", you could have a whole drawing full of imperfect lines and, as a whole the drawing could be phenomenal.
If all else fails ask the girl if she will help you, she'll probably take it as a complement . GOOD LUCK.

Art is not something about competition, u know. If she make u feel she's better than you then u should learn from her why you like her works why u feel she's better. Let she be your inspiring that one day she might become a great artist and so could you but that's not what art is about. I think great artist make their art by their passion not competition. Go deep inside yourself and ask yourself a question "How did I really came to draw?" find this answer in yourself and show it on your canvas.

I'm not very good in writing English but I'd like to try to answer a question

No one is meant for anything. Sure some people have more talent than others, but anyone can be good at anything if they practice enough. Practice more and you will get better. Also, remember one other thing. No matter what you do, there will always be someone else out there who is better than you. If you come to this realization quickly and accept it, you can move on and focus on improving.

whenever you get time simply scribbling
draw line and circles always.first perfect your circles and line. this will help you to draw good picture. some body told to go to jail . that is the idiotic answer. daily you spend minimum one hour for painting this is enough. next involvement is necessary. this will improve your picture. compare to painting for payment , satisfaction -involvement painting shows very good. definitely you can draw better than others. try. all the best

I understand what you mean but every ones art style is different and so is the medium the artist works with, experiment with something different including style, just look at late Picasso, Salvador Dali, my personal belief is true art like music, dancing are something that are always better when felt with the heart or soul.

She's just more experienced. If you can draw pretty well naturally then you should just get help (from an art teacher who can draw well or an art book).
