Yes, last fall my middle son fell and cut his head on the fireplace at church. When I got to the hospitol they had given him a numbing shot the puffed up the wound. So the first time I saw it, I could see straight to his skull. Swear to god I almost fainted.
He got five internal stitchjes and fifthteen external. We swaddeled him and then I had to lay across hos chest and my mom across his legs. It was horrible he just whimpered and shook the whole time.
When it comes to my kids, if they are afraid my fear and comfort come second. Then once they are safe and calm...I take my turn and fall apart.

Being a nudist myself, this wouldn't phase me a bit. I've even been in situations where this has taken place and I know that it is not even uncommon in nudist families. One Labor Day at the club I go to it was a cool rainy day. Nearly all of the adults were clothed and hanging out under a pavilion or inside the clubhouse. About six of the kids were running around in the rain or still in the lake completely clothes free. The kids obviously didn't have an issue with their nudity, so why would I? I've even encountered it in non-nudist situations but usually the children are swimming or playing in a sprinkler and the kids are usually toddlers or younger. For example, at a class reunion picnic a few years ago it was a hot day and no one anticipated the kids would want to get wet. Someone filled up the kiddie pool. Their parents undressed them and let them play in the pool. No one really thought anything of it.

No, I haven't seen MY daughter have stitches but once a neighbour brought a little girl to me whose mother was terrified of blood. She had apparently slipped and fallen on a railing she was walking on and had split her chin open. So I dressed it as best as I could and took her to the emergency room. They took the dressing off, exclaiming that I had dressed it really well, and then laid her on the gurney and swabbed it and then got out a curved needle and stitched it closed. She needed like 3 or 4 stitches and I was a little squeamish watching them put the huge needle in such a tiny face, but not too bad. Unless there is a huge amount of blood I'm usually ok.

I have always been squeamish; however I have always remained in the room because I just do not trust other people with my child.

Yep, both. My husband was "watching" our 2 year old son when he fell off our sectional sofa, ....SLAM!!-- into the WINDOW FRAME. He split the bridge of his little nose RIGHT OPEN and was the unlucky recipient of SEVEN ENORMOUS HATEFUL stitches....I was pissed. BUT, the MD on call for plastic surgery did an excellent SPEEDY job; we held him still and it was over in a flash. He was playing like himself later that day....
I lead by example, and fear is NOT an option when it comes to matters of medical emergency. (Or shots, for that matter...)

I am so TOTALLY squeamish that i have to leave the room... or I will hold his hand and literally cover my eyes with the other. I also tell the nurse to tell me when everything is over because I will nto look until the needles are GONE.

I watched my toddler get stitches around his eyebrow when I was pregnant. Almost fainted seeing my poor baby boy not understanding what was going on. Watching my children get shots wasn't quite so bad.

I had to watch my son get stitches when he was 3 years old across his forehead. Unfortunately I had to hold his head and console him as the Dr. worked on him. I did very well until it was all over. Then I fainted.

Yes, it was more horrible than having it done to myself. 6 stitches in my 18 month old child's head, right above his eye.
