Lol. Socrates was a brilliant man in that his thought processes were progressive. He was one of the firsts to really take on the sophists, and end the reign of the storytellers. The Socratic meathod is a brilliand formula for argument. Of course, as with most other philosophers, Socrates was interested in discovering the truth. It was the same for aristotle and his experimentation. There is so much more to the question "which came first?". Can you imagine having those original thoughts before the actual scientific fact? It's incredible to create something new. A fresh idea. It also happens to be a pretty rare occurrance. Socrates was brilliant because he defied conventional wisdom, and pioneered the path to affecting change. He was brave, and died for his beliefs. Even the people working the prison where he was held captive begged for him to escape. They left his cell unlocked, and told him to go. He refused. And was executed for the persuit of truth. What a guy.

Socrates wasnt smart. He just thought about things that no one else had yet to think of. If you brought Socrates back into this world today he would be just another regular human-being.
