i am currently on internet lite (128kpbs), and when i watch a 10 minute video, i usually have to wait about 8 minutes for it to lead 3 quarters way and then i can start watching. i was wondering if if upgraded my internet connection to 1000kpbs, will i be able to watch videos without pausing?

128 kbps is too low... You need a faster connection. Keep in mind that it also depends on the video quality that you choose (e.g., like in Yahoo Music - you can choose 3 quality settings) . If you choose a very high video quality, then even 10 Mbps will not be enough. That being said, you should upgrade to 1 Mbps, it will be much faster, can't guarantee how much or if you'll have to pause, but it will be much faster.

You could try changing the buffering setting on the program you're using to watch the videos. I'm pretty sure both Quicktime and Windows Media Player both allow you to choose how much of the video to download before it begins playing.

Check the link below for more info.

EDIT: Couldn't find anything on Google for the Quicktime buffer settings. One way to do it with Quicktime is to start Quicktime, go to "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Quicktime Preferences" and then select the "Streaming" tab. Make sure the streaming speed is correct for your connection and then towards the bottom click the "Instant On" box and see if that helps. If there's still a delay then play with the slider.

It shouldn't pause at that speed. It maybe the site is overloaded or maybe you have to many programs running or not enough memory. I have basic dsl from earthlink and it runs fine for me for videos and movies. I have 2.4ghz amd processor and 1gb of ddr memory.
